I am seeking $80,000 to $160,000 in startup funds for Top Out Climbing Gym, the first and only rock climbing facility in Santa Clarita set to open in 2012. Top Out Climbing Gym will be a full sized climbing and fitness gym dedicated to provide patrons of all ages a safe, exciting, and fun environment in which to exercise, socialize, and develop climbing skills.
Santa Clarita's demographics consist of a low median age, high number of children, high population growth rates, high median household income, and a health conscious region. This is a very favorable situation for a rock climbing gym for both the short and long term.
I have over 11 years of experience in rock climbing and outdoor adventures, and over 8 years of experience working at a rock climbing gym. My educational background is in finance, and I have 4+ years of experience in accounting and project advising at a major mutual fund firm.
The entire startup costs are $550,000. I am investing $70,000 of my finances into this project. The money from private investors will be used towards startup capital, as well as initial operating expenses. The remainder of the funding for startup costs will be provided by bank loans.
The money obtained through private investors will help me meet my business targets, which are sales of $400,000 by the 12th month, and revenue growth of at least 50% and 20% for the 2nd and 3rd years.
