Description:
I appied through an angel company for funding and help with starting a homeless and emergency shelter in our towm. The company was titled (URL removed). Mr. Brooks the CEO was funding my project. We got down to the closing of the plans.
Kelvin Brooks is one of the people who donates furniture to Extreme Make Overs. He has several furniture factories in the mid west. Old fashioned real wood furniture. While
in the hospital for a hip replacement, His company had a hostile takeover. The bumped him from the top and decided to only fund people looking for funds to go to college. They felt it was a waste of time to spend money on the term was has- bins. Invest in the future. Today is our third day of sub-freezing tempratures. We have snow and ice. It's a balmy 9 degrees to top out at 13 degrees the rest of this week. We have 270 homeless people in our town. 20% of our children go to bed hungry every night. All I hear is so ans so will help. I check it out and they pass the buck and say (URL removed) and so takes care of (URL removed)n. Our house burned down five years ago. Jammies and that was it. We lived in our truck until we found an abandone shack in the woods. We didn't beleive in banks so all our cash ($5G's) burned to ashes in our guaranteed fireproff lock box. All our FRIENDS said (URL removed) it must be really hard on you (URL removed) you need someone to talk to, give us a call. We were never offered a coach, cup of hot coffee....a slice of bread nothing. My husband held several offices for this town and had to give them up because we looked like HOMELESS people. People can be very uncaring and just plain stupid.
The person who said walk a mile in my shoes and then make a decision, really hit the nail on the head. I stopped a few minutes ago at a cross-walk for a lady and a toddler and baby in umbrella stroller. It's 13 degrees out. I asked her if she would like to come home with me where it is warm for the sake of the children. Sometimes Proud and Stupidity
rank right there in the same sentence. Sincerley, Vikki Weatherford
