Description:
Lone Cowboy Systems, LLC will develop open and closed source web, desktop, and mobile systems*. I will also develop, maintain and/or sell profit making community based websites that will follow the Web 2.0 trend. As a additional stream of income, I will offer web design/maintenance and hosting services.
*By systems, I mean web applications and software that work hand in hand together to create a functional system. For example, a Home Management System that allows parents to print chore charts on their desktops while a mobile application on a teenager's phone reports their location at set intervals to an online application and requires them to respond otherwise it locks certain phone features.
Currently, I have started working on a complete business plan and have started the incorporation process to become an LLC. I am currently the only developer and will be the only owner for the time being.
I have 8 years of experience in freelance web application development, 1-2 years of desktop software development experience, and I am currently completing a B.S. in Computational Mathematics to be followed by a Ph.D in Astrophysics or Mathematics. I anticipate that as I become more qualified that my company will begin to focus on certain niche software markets, such as mathematical analysis and modeling software development.
Because I am in school and that does consume much of my time, I intend to put together a team of 3-5 qualified developers within one year. In the mean time, my course load will remain light and I will spend most of my time planning and developing small scale systems and open source applications. As the team develops, the focus will switch to enterprise level systems.
