The life settlement industry is young (about five years old), and is growing at a spectacular rate. An estimated $20 billion worth of transactions will occur this year, with the market growing to $150 billion in three or four years (According to Bernstein & Co.).
I recently left running one of the largest and most aggressive life settlement brokerages in NY (we had 100 employees, offices in NY, NJ, Chicago, LA and Dallas), where I served as Executive Vice President. As a broker, we worked with “producers” (insurance agents, financial planners, attorneys, etc) whose senior clients are interested in selling life insurance policies.
