Morewood Bikes USA llc have been established in the Asheville area of North Carolina for 5 years and our key business is importing, assembling and distributing the Morewood Brand of bikes ((URL removed)) from our facility in Fletcher NC. As with most bike manufacturers these days, the frames are produced off-shore, and in this case our frames are hand-built in South Africa. We have the exclusive distribution rights for the USA and South America and most of our sales are through a network of authorized bike shops, but we do sponsor a number of professional riders to whom we supply directly. Our bikes are considered top of the range and retail between $3500 and $8500 for a complete bike.
We do not consider ourselves to be a mass producer and normally we custom build each bike to the customers’ specification. However, we are seeing the demand increase for delivery of just the frames and fully complete bikes built with a standard “parts kit”. Our focus has been on what we call the “All Trail” and “Downhill Racing” aspect of mountain biking and our designs reflect this, but we have a range of 6 models that cover all the aspects of mountain biking.
In order to establish the brand we have been actively campaigning our bikes at the various National Mountain biking events held every year and have several pro riders have been very successful on the USA circuits. It should be noted that our Downhill Frame has been the USA National Champion for the last 2 years and last year our trail bike was the USA Super D champion.
