Description: Conscious Dancer symbolizes the emergence of a major cultural movement. “Dance is the next Yoga” is how one reader aptly phrased it. We plan to do for movement what Rolling Stone did for rock music and what Wired did for computers. Our mission is to promote personal transformation and planetary healing through celebration and dance. Our motto is “Movement for a Better World” There are no international magazines focused on dance as a holistic activity. Traditional forms of dance like Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Tap are institutionalized and flat-lined in growth. Popular dance forms such as Salsa, Tango, Belly, and Swing are all rapidly growing but rarely presented as health enhancing, community building, or life enriching activities. Meanwhile, newer modalities of dance and holistic fitness such as 5Rhythms, NIA, Soul Motion, Jazzercise, Contact Improv and other types of “ecstatic dance” are growing exponentially and have yet to be presented to the public under an inclusive banner that clearly articulates their many positive benefits. The solution to this problem is Conscious Dancer. By recognizing the emergence of a rapidly growing global movement, and being the first to clearly present it to the public, Conscious Dancer is poised to be the leader in this field. By coining the term “conscious dance” and using it actively as a brand name, Conscious Dancer becomes the de-facto arbiter and authority of the movement.
