Description: Trigger Change is a non-profit media initiative started in 2008. The first media campaign is to produce a documentary on the economics of micro financing- small change making a big difference. Trigger Change intends to explore the microloan business model by following small teams of specialists as they revitalize local infrastructure and economies in Africa, India, Central and South America. We are currently fundraising about 40k for the media campaign, which includes production, post production and media distribution. All fiscal support is tax deductible in the United States. Trigger Change could reduce that amount if we are able to find sponsors to offer free or discounted air fare, and or ground transportation. In these times of economic crisis it's important for people to feel they can make a difference. To show that economics isn't just about huge corporations it's about small business owners too, and during an economic downturn economic power means brain power not wallet power to move the economy forward. The documentary hopes to show how the current macro model of financing benefits from micro lending. To show you can make a big difference with smaller amounts of monetary, personnel, and infrastructure support. So for example you might not need the Army Corps of Engineers to design a new irrigation system that would cost $200,000.00 to implement, instead a farmer from India might be able to teach a group of farmers elsewhere in the world about alternative irrigation techniques or more cost effective irrigation techniques based on field experience. Both are effective ways of solving the same problem. This documentary hope to encourage people to get involved by showcasing smaller initiatives with more person-to-person approaches then say government or region wide initiatives. Work with us!
