I am a 29 year old Videographer and Editor based out of Irvington, NJ and I am working on creating a documentary that will reach volumes of people in hopes of answering the question and creating awareness on what happened to the dream.
Samir Graves is the young man reciting the "What Happened to the Dream" poem in the video.
This project came about when Samir was a member of the "NJ Orators" He recited a poem called "What Happened to the Dream" written by him and his dad that drew a lot of attention and conversation from both the younger and older generation. After performing this poem at Barnes and Noble, an older lady stood up and said "Yeah what happened to the dream, all the struggle for this mess these young folks are in, whats wrong with yall?" Samir answered "I'm not sure" and when the lady responded "Well you should find out" The birth of this project began.
