Sweets & Meats Market is a gourmet food store located in the downtown Rockland area-which is located in the Mid-Coast area of Maine. The store will be located in a building which will be occupied by a premier boating magazine. The store is also located at the top of all the major festivals that happen in Rockland, and at the top of one of the busiest harbors in Maine. My main competition has moved out of town due to personal reasons, and they had sales over $350K, and were in a bad location. Being that my business will be in a prime location, with prime neighbors, I feel my sales will be more. Also, the space next door use to house Rockland's local health store, which had to move because they out grew their space. The last year they were at this location they had over $650K in sales. There is a growing request, desire, and need for quality gourmet food products. Sweets & Meats Market can fill this gap by offering local gourmet food products such as local meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables, as well as other locally made gourmet products. We will also be selling domestic and imported gourmet food products, as well as wine, champagne, and beer.
