Description: My company is creating a web based platform that enables individuals who are traveling from a shared point of origination to communicate with each other to make that commute together. The transportation complex has the opportunity to become immensely more efficient, environmentally less damaging and fiscally more responsible because people are now able to communicate with each other in complex ways while on the move. With the appropriate infrastructure, augmented by web based platforms, commuters of the future will be able to organize themselves into travel groups, instead of traveling individually. Our aim is to ultimately decentralize the transportation infrastructure in urban environments. However, before we can tackle that idea, my company must prove that individuals are willing and capable of meeting up at locations prescribed by our website as places where they can hire a cab to take them to a shared destination. We are working on ways to incorporate private cab companies as well public taxis into our network so that the user is guaranteed a cost effective, environmentally less damaging, convenient way to share what was once considered a single occupancy vehicle for transportation purposes.
