Online interactive maps and downloadable GPS data that provide accurate and specific information regarding tourist areas around the National Park System. Also, the availability to rent GPS units at local visitor centers. I have started with Acadia National Park because it is most familiar - having vacationed there for over 20 years.
It targets travelers and tourists that visit the National Parks and surrounding areas.
The competitive advantage is that I provide very detailed and accurate GPS data. Much "standard" data on GPS units is dated and inaccurate. Also, most points of interest focus on businesses, or points of interest, with physical addresses as opposed to hiking and trail locations, photo opportunity locations or "off-the-beaten-path" areas.
Finally, GPS technology is not yet fully assimilated into everyday usage, so there is a first to market opportunity.
