Description: Vision: Men of Tomorrow seek to develop boys to become young men. Mission Statement: Our Mission is to establish support, encouragement and provide male role models for our young men. To create an environment that will foster, guide, enhance, and develop their individual skills to be more productive and responsible adults. Value Statement: Men of Tomorrow is committed to the development of youth based on these most important precepts: respect for all, spirituality, justice, and integrity. Founder – Faye Marie (King) Bell: The overall concept of the Men of Tomorrow began with my boys, Cortez King - 13 years old and Bryan King -16 years old. As a single, Black American Mom and like most single Moms in America, we share the same desire, a safe environment and the best education for our children. It is easy to understand why parents are often worried and anxious about their children’s safety. As society becomes more complicated and hectic, dangers increase as well. As a single parent, we naturally try our best to keep our children out of harm’s way. As I watch my boys’ grow up becoming young men and seeing their friends who they once played soccer or football with, I also see a dramatic change in their lives. Our children are being enticed with sex, drugs and gang activity which are robbing them of their true talents and values. The responsibilities of a loving mother never ends, and we will accept them willingly. Whether it is looking out for your child’s best interests or simply being there for support, a mother’s love is unconditional. Perhaps the most important role you will have as a mother is being an provider - of a good home, proper nutrition, and physical and emotional support. It may seem like a never-ending chore, but most women take to motherhood like an second nature, the minute they are called ‘Mommy’. However, the underline problem is the “missing father”, the most influential male role model a child could ever have, and in some cases, the father is not the role model. There is a saying: “It takes a whole village to raise a child”, this statement is very true. I envision a community outreach program that will improve the quality of life for our young men, to help them discover their purpose, value and the true meaning of life and success.
