In the ever-changing industry of professional sports, which strives to be exceptionally technologically advanced, a key variable to fan experience has unfortunately remained unchanged. While new stadiums are being built for billions of dollars and franchises continue to explore the best way to provide fans with the ultimate game-day experience, food service at stadiums has often been overlooked in terms of technological innovation. Food and food vendors have been providing entertainment since ancient Rome for spectators in the Roman Coliseum. Although technology has since made an impact on the way food vendors do business, it has largely remained unchanged from a fan’s perspective. Long lines have historically caused unrest with hungry fans who want to continue to watch the game in seats for which they have paid extraordinary amounts for.
