Description: Little has been done to improve the accuracy and production rates of automated tablet counting and bottle filling machines since they were invented in the 1960’s. Because designers have failed to “think outside the box,” there has yet to be a machine on the market that can exceed a rate of 400 bottles per minute. Since the other functions in a packaging line can produce at higher speeds, it is the bottle filling function that limits production rates on existing bottler filler lines. In 2007, APP responded to the need for higher speed and lower cost of ownership by forming Axis Pharmaceutical Packaging (APP). Utilizing a new patent-pending design, APP will position itself as a world leader in the manufacture, sales, and distribution of high-speed tablet counting and bottle filling equipment within the next two years. With just three major competitors in an industry expected to reach $30 billion in 2009, APP’s new bottle fillers will be the only equipment on the market with: 1) Bottle processing rates from 480 (bpm) to 700 (bpm). 2) 100% simultaneous inspection and direct counting of all tablets. 3) Machine vision for counting, geometric inspection, and color inspection. 4) Can eliminate product recalls for manufacturing product mix up 5) Direct coupling capabilities to capping and bottle descrambler machines to reduce floor space. 6) Highest ROCI (return on capital investment) of any competitor.
