It has been many years since I'd produced a documentary as my background is as a Feature Film Investment Packager for Independent Feature Films under 10 mil dollars. I'd forgotten how much I love and was great at producing projects that had meaning, projects that would also attrack the interest of Discover, HBO, Bravo. My current project is about Native Hawaiian Heritage as they want to be recognized as Native Hawaiians, not Native Americans. They are not the radical Sovereignists we hear (URL removed) crew exists of 3 people. Two of whom work almost exclusively with National Geographic. To date, we have been paid for the first documentary. Now, the entire story to include the interview with the designated Royals of the "nation of Hawaii. It is the first time they will have allowed this information to be (URL removed) the group is internationally acclaimed musician, Liko Martin who's current musical endeavor is an opera. I want to continue documenting their story for educational purposes as the true Hawaiian story needs to be told and heard. The current project will go to Dateline with hopes that they pick up part of the story as it is history in the making. The remaining information is unfolding daily with meetings with political figures as new information has been found through 12 years of research in the Archives and the Library of Congresss. It is also our intention to take this story to an epic length (URL removed)elopment funds are needed, which will also cover a documentary to be sold regarding double outrigger canoes slated to be built over the next 7 months for a museum in Alaska. One of the Hawaiian Chiefs whose story we're also following, builds these with the help of students from New Zealand, Australia and Japan. At this time, there are no gross sales, My crew and I are paid our day rates. Once finished, the end product is owned by my clients. However in this case, they are allowing me to film as well as manage the distribution sales of the documentaries. FYI, I have over 30 years of experience in the film industry working many aspects of production,If interested, please contact me, Deborah Helber (Phone # removed). Thank you!
