Description: Flying Scorpions is a solely owned company located in Virginia, USA. Its founder Chris Peake developed that first successful area defense robotic system (The Prowler R3) in 1985. He went on to lead the teams that developed area defense systems currently used in S. Korea and Israel. Other users have included the British MOD and US Dept. of Defense. We are in the process of developing a cost reducing, area defense system, used to protect high value assets in combat contested areas. Those assets would include ammunition storage areas, forward resupply areas, forward observation posts and others. We define cost reduction as the ability to effectively protect high value assets while reducing cost (when compared to human defenders) by at least 50%. In today's era of defense cuts, this system will be highly sought after. Our Scorpions also save lives on the battlefield. Placing a Flying Scorpion in a high risk situation removes one to ten human soldiers from harm’s way. Finally, Flying Scorpions directly support the area commander's designated tactics and strategies for each specific battlefield scenario. Scorpions are robots. They do not get hangovers, they do not experience religious conversions, do not have problems with authority, are unable to become afraid and never get divorced. The obey orders like robots. They are also unable to perform more the more complex actions required in forward fighting areas. The soldiers freed up by the Flying Scorpions can do that and therein is another cost saving property. We are seeking US$1,312,000 in seed capital. We intend to design, develop, and manufacture Flying Scorpions in Europe, South America or another country that demonstrates its support of our venture. The financial, engineering and sales keys that will unlock our success are: • We need to establish sufficient funds via first round financing to support the design, creation and successful demonstration of our first "Flying Scorpion" squad and demonstrate how that squadron reduces the cost of protecting high value military assets by more than 50%. • Once funded we shall design proprietary methods for camouflage, fire control and projectile firing. The aforementioned technology exists in concept form and needs to be taken from concept to reality. (A process our founder has achieved repeatedly) • Our marketing and sales force will begin selling upon the completion of the engineering model so as to bring our customers to us in coordination with the successful demonstration of our technology. We intend to sell our demonstration unit. • We will penetrate (U.S. friendly) international markets first; focusing on those countries that have immediate threats to their existence. Successfully harvesting these markets will be the final key to the successful conclusion of operations funded by first round financing. The follow-on keys will center more on streamlined and efficient manufacturing along with wise business growth. We will sell our first demonstration unit for US$1,888,000. The demonstration unit will consist of: • 1 - Squad Leader Flying Scorpion • 1 - Assistant Squad Leader Flying Scorpion • 1 - Sensor Flying Scorpion • 2 - Anti-Personnel Flying Scorpions • 2 - Anti-Tank Flying Scorpions The total projected cost associated with the development of the demo squad is US$1,094,000 yielding a first year profitability of US$794,000.
