Description:
TAGS is a Limited Liability Company to be established in 2009. The K-12 private school clothing distributor and boarding school outfitter will be located in Chicago, IL. The company is seeking working capital in the amount of $1,500,000 for the purpose of start-up operations and to cover estimated operating expenses for a twenty-four month period.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), there are currently 30,000 K-12 private schools in the United States serving 6 million students. This represents approximately $1.5 billion spent on school related clothing (school uniforms/PE uniforms/spirit wear) and boarding school dorm room supplies (comforters, sheets, pillows, etc.) The number of private schools and overall enrollment in K-12 private schools is on the rise. The market we are entering is experiencing rapid growth. Schools across the country are realizing the benefits of outsourcing their clothing and boarding school needs. Tags enters this industry at a most propitious time, with limited competition, broad exposure to influential accounts, and a clear and determined blueprint for success.
We will capture a significant majority of market share by building on our combined 23 years of sales and operations management experience in the K-12 private school market. More specifically, we will capitalize on our existing key relationships in this sector; offer cutting edge flexibility in our on-site and web-based ordering, tracking and reporting platforms; generate the most creative and user-friendly marketing materials in the industry; use state-of-the-art screen printing and embroidery machinery not utilized by competitors; and provide highly trained first class customer service to both school administrators and end users.
Our projections for year one are to contract with 10 – 15 schools for PE uniforms and spirit wear and 5 - 10 boarding schools for their dorm room needs . This will represent approximately $1.3 million in gross revenue. We will begin selling school uniforms in our second year of operation. For year two we expect to contract an additional 20 - 25 PE, school uniform and spirit wear accounts and 10 - 15 boarding schools representing a total gross revenue of approximately $3 million. A conservative three-year projection brings us to an estimated 120 schools representing approximately $5 million in gross revenue.
