Description: Business Description The Good Bottle is a new retail business venture due to begin operations in the spring of 2009. The business is a specialty wine, beer, and soda store intended to immediately become the go-to destination for each category in the Portland area. While Portland is the undisputed craft beer mecca of the west coast, at this time, there no unrivaled retail leader in selection and quality. Our goal is to provide customers with a beer selection so vast that The Good Bottle will become the anchor for a close-knit community of beer aficionados and hobbyists. The beer selection itself will be mirrored in the two other departments: wine and soda. These three industries have so many common threads, including regional traditions and trends that result in beverages reflecting their rich history. For example, we have a new generation developing in interest in sodas like Nehi (from the southern part of the United States) as well as wines and beers that equally represent a history and connection with their place of origin. The Portland area’s overall strong reputation for consumer saavy in these categories makes it the perfect place for The Good Bottle. Ownership and Management The Good Bottle will be a partnership that will be incorporated under the laws of the state of Oregon. The business will be owned by Aaron Kirschnick and his wife, Margaret Kirschnick. Aaron has had extensive experience in managing a beer and wine business at the retail level. His daily overseeing of inventory management, purchasing, bookkeeping, personnel, and marketing, will be key in helping to make The Good Bottle successful. Aaron has spent the past seven years in the wine industry, including positions on the import, winery, and distribution sides. Previously, he was a customer service manager for nearly five years at (URL removed). He plans to utilize this experience to both craft an effective internet presence and create an unrivaled customer service experience in the store and online. He also spent several years cooking professionally before his time at (URL removed), which led him to his current interest in, and deep knowledge of, food and wine. Margaret Kirschnick has been a paralegal for nearly ten years and thus has an incredibly deep understanding of law and can offer this critical tool to the daily operation of the business. Additionally, Margaret has three years retail experience, where she honed her customer service and business management skills. Together, Aaron and Margaret possess a unique combination of life and professional experiences that will help set The Good Bottle apart from all competition.
