Description: There a Dirty Little E-waste Secret. Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) from electronic devices contain bromine as a fire retardant. Bromine combines with hydrogen in landfills to form dioxins. PCB’s are not “recycled,” but shredded and either shipped out of the country or contributed to landfill that results in dioxins in the landfill The State has established PCBs as Hazardous Material. E-cycle Systems has a process to remove the bromine, gold, and copper economically from PCBs.
