I designed and patented a lighted winch carrier for trucks and suvs that mount to their hitch receiver. It is pretty bad ass and get alot of attention. I have sold roughly 20 with 0 marketing just walk ups. This was durring the patent process, i wanted to test the market but keep it low key for patent purposes prior to the Patent being awarded.
I do have manufacturing set up as well as a website. Each unit cost roughly $23-$29 per unit to make and they retail for $150-$175 ($85-$95 wholesale)
My goal is to get these into Northern tools and Tractor Supply. Thats about 1800 stores wholesale and sell retail on my website.
120 Million trucks and Suvs in the US alone. Capturing just 1/10th of 1% of these potention customers is millions!
