Description: Project 1206 is an initiative to connect small businesses across the globe. Started by a small business owner, Project 1206 facilitates Business to Business Commerce by creating a network through which companies can communicate and share information. “As a small business owner (Bergstein’s NY Delicatessen), I conducted business with countless other companies both in my community and across the country. We dealt with businesses that specialized in everything from specialty desserts and sodas to window, floor and linen cleaners; from equipment installation to accountants and (URL removed) were constantly working with other small businesses. In addition, our most profitable sector was catering, and this was largely due to orders from local businesses for lunches or office parties.I felt that if we had a medium to contact other small business owners and showcase our product--as well as search out goods and services we needed--our small business community would benefit greatly.” -William Davis, Founder Project 1206 Project 1206 allows small business owners to list specific needs that other business owners might be able to fulfill. Also, companies can list their own services in the hopes of linking up with other businesses near and far. Oftentimes, small businesses do not have the luxury of huge budgets, so they patronize big businesses instead of their small business brethren. For example, rather than use a local accountant for payroll, they might end up using a big business accounting firm. Project 1206 empowers the little guy to have the resources to easily shop for any good or service and have the peace of mind that they are supporting other small businesses. To further achieve this objective, we allow companies to offer discounts to their fellow small business owners to encourage a small business cooperative. Moreover, Project 1206 creates a small business network by allowing its members to show its business partners. With this network of small businesses, it is our goal to interconnect small businesses across the globe. A small boutique shop in California can find a jewelry maker in Chicago or even Egypt with just a few clicks. The importance of consumers supporting small business cannot be understated. We, at Project 1206, believe that small businesses need to support each other as well. (URL removed)
