Description:
Our company is recycling "crane mats", oak mats assembled for the purpose of running heavy equipment during pipeline construction in Arkansas. These mats are composed of rough-milled red oak timbers bolted together to form a dimension of 4 ft wide by 8 inches thick by 30 ft long. After prolonged use, and the end of their utility, they are transported to landfills in Arkansas (such as Cleburn County Landfill, in Wilburn). These landfills are filling up fast and county officials are at wit's end trying to figure out what to do with them. Our intention is to reconstruct crane mats utilizing timbers without too much damage. This will help curtail the massive deforestation that is taking place in Southern states. Smaller, broken up timbers will be processed into firewood. Exceptionally high quality timbers will be milled into hardwood flooring stock.
