Jefferson Renewable Energy("JRE"), a RI based LLC, provides project development that emphasizes renewable energy production from fuel material that would otherwise be landfilled. With projects in the permitting phase in Alliance, OH and Johnston, RI and about to move to permitting in Jersey City, NJ and New Orleans, LA, JRE partners with the landfill operator (initial MOUs have been signed) to generate significant "green" power and significantly extend the life of the landfill.
All projects are in the 3000-5000 tons per day range and produce ~100MW of renewable power to the electric grid. Capital costs range from $190mm - $250mm, and JRE has commitments from the respective states to provide tax-free municipal bond coverage and from 2 senior U.S. banks to manage the bonds and provide 80%
