Description: I am a 3x gold medalist, have 2nd Dan (Degree) Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do, and am a survivor of domestic violence. I have spent the last 5 years attending Ashford University to obtain a degree in Applied Behavioral Science and am currently a matter of weeks from graduating with honors. I have spent my life working toward a goal of assisting women and their children currently transitioning out of domestic abuse. KICKSTANDS* Support and Development Center is designed to empower women and increase self-reliance by offering counseling/support in both group as well as individual settings if desired, The program will also offer self-defense classes. Most importantly we offer assistance in acquiring and furthering educations. Program requires members to attend an accredited university (Online Program) and in exchange they receive after- school child care and the use of the facility computers, and time. This structured program will ultimately increase the individuals' value in the workforce and decrease dependence upon Public Social Service Programs...(We now have 3rd generation welfare dependent families). Kids will be bused from schools to program for after school tutoring and a martial arts based exercise regimine / self-defense classes. I have completed the work up to this point. investing many years in the process, however I am now in new territory with acquiring funding, and the guidance I need to bring this dream to fruition. My plan is generating income similar to the Salvation Army's profit/non-profit, the plan includes refurbishing donated items and selling them below retail. I am open to any and all constructive criticism and ideas that will get me closer to fulfilling this dream. I have a mid-brain cyst and fear my time is running out.
