Description:
The Relationship Foundation is an educational initiative on the forefront of a new approach to social and emotional intelligence.
In our high school program, Healthy Relationships 101, we begin with an essential question:
We spend at least twelve years in school preparing for a career;
How much time do we spend preparing for a relationship?
At The Relationship Foundation, we say that we don’t have a lot of answers, but we do have a lot of questions and information. When our students begin to answer these questions according to their highest values, they begin to determine what a healthy relationship can be.
Although meaningful relationships are an important part of personal fulfillment, this topic is rarely addressed in formal settings. Our unique viewpoint of “Relationship Ed before Sex Ed” serves to benefit students and teachers through a curriculum that complements a variety of subjects. Sex Ed cannot stand alone to educate us about the complexities of a relationship.
By providing youth with information about relationships, developing their communication skills, and posing essential questions, we empower them to explore and define their own values in the dynamic realm of relationships of every kind. By partnering with schools and educators, The Relationship Foundation is preparing a new generation to establish and maintain lasting, healthy bonds that foster personal and mutual growth.
Vision Statement
The Relationship Foundation seeks to enhance the understanding of relationships to foster greater human connection. At this unique time in history, we have unprecedented freedom to choose our partners and set the terms of our interpersonal relationships, yet so many are experiencing emotional and even physical suffering often with those closest to them. The Relationship Foundation is committed to creating a world in which people celebrate healthy relationships with dignity and respect.
