I'm a civil engineer and have my own farm and ranch. I've always wanted to flip homes or have a rental property on the side. There is a great opportunity to purchase a foreclosed home (nearly 6000 sq ft) for a fraction of what it's worth. It will go to public auction in January 2016, but the bank will consider offers before then. Structurally it is sound-- a solid brick house (literally). Most of what the home needs is cosmetic: carpet, paint, ect. I am looking at buying the home for $300,000-400,000, taking her from fair to fantastic, and renting it out until the right time to sale. It has over a 4 acre lot, a huge 3 car garage, and tons of room. It is a $600,000 home easy. The same home would cost well over 800,000 to build today. I just need an investor that will believe in my strategy, provide the money, and I will do the work.
