Description:
n 2011, Troy D digitally distributed his self-written EP, "S'wet," through Island Def Jams Tunecore and sold out his debut show in Chicago. Two months later, he took his show on the road to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and continues to work tirelessly to keep his music in films. His textured vocals, crossover productions, and commanding stage delivery earned him the 2012 Hollywood Rising Star Award. Soon after, he was nominated at The 2012 Chicago Music Awards as an Emerging Star. Five of his singles reigned on the top ten of Canada’s indy AMAHits music charts, where S’wet and Bottom of my Heart still hold two spots. He enetered several competitions and was crowned the 2010 Chicago Road to Fame Champion, won the ESPN Sing-off, and the chance to performed the Star Spangled Banner for 25,000 Chicago White Sox fans. From there, he began his music journey.
The singer-songwriter snags attention with his keen business mind, charitable nature, and Facebook & Twitter rants about taking control of your life. At 23, Troy D was finished with his Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies, his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Sociology, and started on his Masters of Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology. He was taking 18-21 credit hours per semester, working internships, held down a full-time job in the legal field, and ran 26-mile marathons to raise awareness for social issues. One night he downloaded an instrumental and went for a jog while listening to it. The eclectic & smooth dance track was his first single, but won't be his last.
