Westport Roots Festival was founded as a Memorial Day Music festival in Kansas City, Missouri featuring Honky Tonk, Blues, Bluegrass, and other forms of American Roots music. It is the only festival of its kind landing on this weekend. In 2018, despite and an unexpected venue closure drastically downsizing our capacity and thus making several marketing expenditures unnecessary, Westport Roots Festival realized a 5.5% ROI, a sold out audience, and glowing reviews. Given the capacity concerns with the Westport, I have partnered with an urban, riverfront park and its park board association to move the festival 3 miles north of its current site. This new site will allow for the festival to grow into one that will Roots, Blues, and BBQ in Columbia, Mo and Fayetteville Roots Festival in Fayetteville, AR, each of which draw crowds of 70,000 to 100,000 each year. I intend to reach this event size within 5 years of relocation to the new sight through use of my impeccable reputation in the Roots Music Scene and my proven track record of successful events and shows in the Kansas City market.
