Description: Here is why we need $450,000. $400,000 would be the down payment on the 354 acre property. The property itself has a main house and two rental houses to help keep money coming in for the first 3 years as we build our farm. $14,000 to buy tractor. $22,000 to buy fencing materials, shelters, cattle, goats. The fencing is old and rotting and I will need to replace it and make a corral to bring in the cows to work them. We want to get 4 registered Angus heifers and 1 limousin bull. This will give us a bigger and leaner Angus. We have 3 Nubian dairy goats now and need to get a registered Nubian Buck. $36,000 go to fee for this service. We have always wanted to own a farm and I have been working with a investment group for the last 5 months and we have already paid them money and the first property we wanted to buy has sold now and I do not think they are doing there job. The reason we really want to run a farm is to provide a good clean source of food to the community. Commercial cattle farms or any commercial farming the living conditions are not the best for the animals and that is why we need more small framers. We know it is going to be hard work, but it is what we like to do. We plan on getting our goats milk USDA approved to sell to stores and at farmer markets. Plus I know that there are some creameries in the Portland area that need goats milk and will try to get in with them to sell the extra milk we have so it does not go to waste.
