Description: I formed The Theater Place as a place to foster creativity and self-expression in a way that makes a positive impact on global issues through the modalities of live theater, documentary filmmaking, the psychology of the voice workshops and classes and special needs youth theater programs. The goal of The Theater Place is to expand our outreach and impact over the next five years with a variety of programs, productions, classes and workshops. My current focus for The Theater Place and where I am looking for funding assistance is in three very different yet powerful programs that will impact and change lives in a positive way around the world. International youth theater touring plays with students with special needs, You Took My Voice A Documentary based on a 20 plus yar body of research that highlights what happens when we are silenced and no longer use our voice, Sexual assault awareness in communities and colleges and schools around the globe with the award-winning touring play Is Anybody Listening? Live theater productions of social justice and new works plays, Psychology of the Voice workshops and classes that help individuals of all ages find their voice and use it for good, Theater camps, programs for students with learning differences that evolve into productions and International touring shows Through these programs our number one goal is is to make a significant and positive impact on the world using the power of live theater and film as we also build confidence and expand creative thinking and the ability of self-expression in a positive way for individuals of all ages, in all countries. The Theater Place was founded by me, Tracy Goodwin and I've been an actress, International play director, Internationally known voice coach, author, speaker and podcastor for the last 40 years. At the age of 12 I started winning speaking and acting awards and went on to publish 5 books and 2 award-winning plays and collaborate with institutions all over the world to create theater projects that make an impact. Because my voice program Psychology of the Voice has been so in demand over the last 10 years I've offered minimal Theater Place programs. At this time I would like to switch the focus to create projects that have the ability to impact the world on a larger scale to change how we view and treat ourselves and others in the world.
