Description: With over 15 years of unmanned airship development, GUS has refined and improved our airship designs to accommodate a wide range of industry applications. GUS enjoyed great commercial success with unmanned airships (primarily providing aerial broadcasting and advertising) up until the ban on unmanned aircraft in 2007 by the FAA. No company or individual was allowed to operate unmanned aircraft (drones) for compensation during the ban. We and the UAS (Unmanned Arial Systems) industry were told by the FAA that this was a temporary ban until new regulations governing unmanned operation could be developed and implemented. The FAA led the industry to believe that this was a high priority, and that the new regulations should be in place within 6 to 12 months. Fast-forward almost 10 YEARS later and it is only recently that the UAS industry has been allowed to operate commercially. Though the ban sidelined GUS, we have used the down-time to further refine our design and stand ready to re-enter the commercial market. We are seeking funding to build demonstrator platforms that will immediately bring in work. Prior to the ban our demos generated a tremendous amount of interest in a very short time, and were able to get us into doors with companies such as ESPN and GEICO and government agencies such as the FBI, CIA, and DEA. The UAS market is ready to burst and our unmanned airships provide a major competitive advantage to the quad/multi-copters that have flooded the market. This flood has brought great interest and great frustration, as these platforms simply cannot do what most industries require. Our unmanned airships can, and have an incredible opportunity to bust into several industries providing aerial data acquisition for agriculture, infrastructure, and any other entity playing with multi-copters needing a better solution.
