What is R.A.P.T.O.R?
R.A.P.T.O.R is a stand at the ready unit, whose primary mission profile is as follows:
• Dispatch at initial time of emergency call.
• Respond at that time, with the education and gear to enter the area and access the patient.
• Provide for the emergent care of the patient and stabilize their condition.
• Provide for the environmental needs of the patient and team.
• Shelter in place with the patient until extraction, either by ground or by air is available.
• To be utilized as a medical detachment of existing SAR units.
• Releases the county from the need to dispatch valuable system ALS units and transport units to “stand by” at a scene where there is no patient.
