I opened Shanels in the spring of 2003 and has done well despite the economy. I started with (URL removed) aquired another space next to us adding an additional (URL removed) have grown 10-15% a year since opening.I have been a stylist for over 25 years and owned this salon for the past 8 years. I am always staying current on the new trends and styles and I keep my employees current as well. The biggest problem I have is funding to be able to grow. I am in a smaller city that is growing but have limited exposure due to the location. In fact, I still have new clients that come in and didn't know I was here! This salon has the potential to be a huge success with some growth funding. I'm really open to options at this point. I've thought about selling it outright and just managing it. Although I'd love to have some investor backing and build a commercial building and have my salon as the anchor and have lease spaces off of that for added income and growth.
