Description: I have developed a business plan for an idea which is innovative and has the potential to expand the trend in the current frozen yogurt concept. The barrier to entry within the industry is low and the market is set for growth. The frozen yogurt business is booming again and there is still opportunity to gain a lion's share of the market. This industry was very popular in the 1980’s and has now been reinvented with companies like Pinkberry, Red Mango and Berripop. My business idea shares the same model as these companies. However, the niche I have identified will set us apart from the competition and give customers within the frozen yogurt market, ice cream market and frozen dessert market an alternate choice that is still consciously healthier than other current options. I have identified a prime location that is ready for build-out, along with all vendors and equipment suppliers. I have also established a strong branding initiative for the store concept. In addition, the propsed store design is modern, vibrant and warm, appealing to both youth's and adults. The branding concept was further expanded to include color schemes, patterns and textured materials for asthetics and the function of the store is designed for ease of employee work-flow while serving customers and even more importantly, an efficient customer pattern flow. I am seeking an investor or business partner who can offer advice and/or seed my equity investment into the business in order for me to secure a business loan. I am also open to entering into a business partnership with an investor who would like to maintain a percentage of ownership in the business in exchange for funding. Once an agreement is reached we can set a target date of Spring or early Summer 2011 for the grand opening campaign. Here are a few facts that are highlighted in my business plan regarding the current climate of the frozen yogurt market: • According to (URL removed) the frozen yogurt market makes up 10% of the frozen dessert market and sales reached 330 million in the 1990’s. Source: (URL removed) • Demand in the market is on an upsurge with consumers wanting healthier eating choices. • The current trend is for fat-free, gluten-free, cholesterol-free yogurt that tastes good and is healthy with consumer’s age ranging from pre-teen to retirees. • There are few barriers to entry in the frozen yogurt industry with capital and operating costs being low. • According to Entrepreneur Magazine the frozen yogurt business is expected to be one of the top franchise businesses in the future. Source: (URL removed) • Finally, there have been many successes in the industry where companies like Pinkberry were in the black within their second month of operation. This in light of the fact that the store was located in a non-prime location. I hope that I have shared enough information to peak interest. Thank you for your consideration.
