Description: I have worked with at-risk youth and their caregivers in creating a safe environment for the youth to succeed while working with them in their homes; group homes; foster care; at their school placement; and even inside a juvenile hall. My work experience has resulted in me identifying an under served population that will inevitably create a social change. We will lead men leaving the prison system by teaching them to use positive self-soothing skills/ assertive communication skills as they transition into society. Simultaneously, these men will be given a job in food production so that they can support themselves by giving value to their work/financially/ provide a safe space for the men to have visits with their children and a CWS worker if conditions apply. The men who will participate will be referred by councillors/prison staff/ probation officers that believe in these men who are wanting to help themselves when they already have the hope and motivation to succeed. Once all investors have been paid back along with a percentage of profits earned over time, remaining profits coming from the sales of the food production will be reinvested in growing the "growing grounds" to allow for other men to be given an opportunity at long term success.
