Description: I don't have a company yet, I only have an "idea" of a company; a company I would like to create physically. Actually a local artist performance venue. Dayton,Ohio has a underground music scene that is very popular; the bars, clubs,& venues have "packed" nights every night full of passionate, smart, creative, rap & r&b artist who love to perform.I have an idea/creation to add to our music scene. I would like to open up my own performance venue. I am very well involved with many artist's in Dayton and in surrounding city's. I would like to "give" them something better. The venues & bars that they perform at now are "OKAY," but I would like to give them a better environment; pay them to perform (eventually), have awards events, recognition parties, and etc. (something the other bars/venues don't offer them.) There are massive amounts of talent in Dayton and I would like to "tap" into our industry in a way that is different and that is better than what they are "use" to. So far I have held and supported a couple events around Dayton (contest, open mic nights, parties, and etc.) in the venues/bars in Dayton, but the other issue (URL removed) main issue is paying the owner half of what I make from the door and the owner's not giving me recognition for bringing more business into their venues.I would like to make and keep my own money. Having events at other venues is not a lucrative (URL removed) for me; especially when the owner get's the money that should be going into my pocket or to the artist for performing. When I posted on my Facebook page that I would like to open my own business/venue, many of the artist saluted that because they like my "business" mind-set. I also have been offered positions working for someone else pertaining to promoting/recording management/designing fliers, and etc.) I was flattered but I have dreams of my own. I'm 32 years old and I'm not getting any younger. I would like to run my own business. At the end of this year I will have earned my Business Management Degree(AAS). After that I am transferring to another college to earn my Bachelors in Business. I have learned and remembered a lot from my education. I put what I learn into my events from the thought of them to the end of them. I have already looked into 8 buildings around the city (bank owned/not individually owned), I have done extensive research on the internet of the places I "would" get everything I would need to design the inside of my venue, I have bouncers/security already in my family who have worked for me when I had my events at other venues, my brother and my cousin work in construction, I am in college for Business Management/Entrep (9th consecutive quarter), I have two DJ's, I have a "design" state of mind, I am very good at promoting my events, I am deeply "linked" into Dayton's underground music scene (Artist, promoters, flier designers, producer's, and etc.) All I need now is the start-up money to make 1 of the 8 buildings I have looked into, into the type of place that I know for a FACT, will be very lucrative and long-lasting. We might not have much here in our little city but we definitely got music/talent. Other artist from other cities even come and perform at our events. I have already created a website for Dayton's Underground Music Scene ((URL removed)). I see these artist as something different and better than these "other" venues/bars see them as. The bars and venues just want the money they bring into their businesses, I want to give them money and show them my appreciation for staying so motivated and passionate about their art. If I ever get the chance to build my creation in reality, it would be called "The XXLUSIVE Spot." Thanks for your time, -Tina L. Martin
