This is a very simple story. There are 19 million homes in Rural America, not to mention businesses, churches and schools, who want broadband Internet access but can’t get it. ARB has contracted with IVI Communications to market Lickity-SplitSM broadband Internet access service in its markets. IVI has been delivering Wireless Broadband Internet to test markets in rural America for over a year.
IVI acquired an ISP in Boone, NC, deployed its Lickity-Split service using off-the-shelf technology and achieved a conversion of 95% of the customers to broadband. This ISP is cash flow positive with 1,000 customers.
