My company, (URL removed), is looking for $50k in small business funding in order to grow this startup.
(URL removed) is based out of Madison, WI and has not officially launched yet.
The goal of the website is to purchase an independent baseball team (leagues not directly connected to the MLB (Major League Baseball) ) and run the team through member voting control, the members pay a registration fee to join the site. This fee would cover the cost of the purchase of the team, and would be annual. For example, if (URL removed) were to target a team valued at 1,500,000, it would require 60,000 members to join and pay at $25, or 37,500 people to join at $40 a membership.
This business model will be successful for one of many reasons. The purchase of the team is a one time expense, yet the memberships to the site are annual. In other words, the site would not only generate $1.5 million the first year, it would generate $1.5 million or more the year after, and so forth, even though the team has already been purchased. This would exponentially increase the funds available to the team for improvements of all kind, better scouting, facilities, marketing, all facets of the team, as well as available capital.
