Description: We have begun a monument sales corporation with the goal of shaking up the market! After my father passed away this year, I investigated the market on monuments and found huge mark-ups. I also found that most towns/cities have one or two retail sales in monuments that retail at the same huge mark-up. My strategy is to make $500 - $1500 per sale on monuments, which puts me hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars under the competition! We have been open 10 days on a $15,000 investment, sold $8600.00 profiting $3500.00 and we are just starting. I want to expand into surrounding areas to compete with high prices. I am wanting $100,000.00 to enhance my current location, advertise more aggresively, and expand to four stores. Each store needs 1 full-time, 1 part-time employee. We are family business that I can see creating a first of its kind "chain" of "affordable" monuments. The giants are on the wholesale end, retailers rarely have more than 2 sites.
