PosID offers Thermo-ID, an emerging high performance infra-red (IR) biometric identity authentication technology. Thermo-ID’s novel approach leverages commercially available fingerscan and smart card appliances enabling substantial performance improvement (authentication & fraud resistance) to today’s fingerscan biometrics. PosID’s sensor technology is not fingerprint-based. Thermo-ID looks internally within the human fingertip passively acquiring a “one-of-a-kind” unique IR signature - No two fingertips are alike. Unlike fingerprints, IR signatures are impossible to exploit through forensic collection and spoofing techniques. The biometric is non-observable (visually/physically) and cannot be collected to commit identity fraud.
