Description:
Who we are: Music (URL removed) Life, Inc.
What We Do: Teach Music Lessons
Why We’re Different: We teach based on different Philosophy from our competitors. For us, becoming musically literate is something everyone can achieve. Most studios, schools and musicians believe that Musicianship is a talent rather than a skill. We know that once a person can read music, they can learn any and many instruments. Our goal is get everyone to be able to read music so that they can be a “Music (URL removed) Life”.
We have an excellent reputation in the community. Our business model is different from other music schools in the area and we offer new and innovative programs for our students who take piano, guitar, voice, violin, sax, flute, (URL removed) more! Our clients stay for years, usually until their kids head off to college (some receiving scholarships due to their education at Music Makers). Parents love our positive attitude and our flexibility to meet the needs of their schedule changes while providing a top-notch music education for their children. We make sure that the kids (and many adults!) learn to read music so that they can be a “music (URL removed) Life”. We put on multiple performances throughout the year in order to give the students plenty of performance experience.
We also have pre-teen and teen rock bands, directed by our teachers, who perform all over McHenry County at venues such as the Firebar Grill, The Thirsty Whale, Conscious Cup, The 4th of July Parade, as well as performing for Fundraisers for HAAS, Turning Point, and many more.
Music (URL removed) Life, Inc. is now going into it’s 9th year. We find ourselves at a critical turning point in our existence. We’ve been through very difficult times as have many other businesses and folks in the last 7 years. We have survived, and in many ways, flourished in spite of doing everything on a shoestring. We currently have 170 students and 12 professional teachers and 3 staff members. The majority of the students come between the hours of 2:30 - 8:30 pm (M-F) and on Saturday mornings. We are booked solid on Tuesday mornings as well with multiple home-schooled families. The potential for growth in the field of home-schoolers is enormous.
With capital to help us grow, we will be able to expand and show nice profits in the coming years. My long-term goal, once we’ve reached a considerable profit, is to then expand to neighboring areas, and to eventually franchise out. I know what parents want for their children, how to present it to them, and how to produce results in their children’s musical education and experience.
