Fashion designer Thai Nguyen, raised in Olympia, Washington, graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles in 2002. He went from devotion to his craft at FIDM — he grew up on a sewing machine - to quickly earning the prestigious title of Associate Designer for BCBG MaxAzria, which he held from 2002 to 2004. There he designed clothes for many Hollywood celebrities. After holding this position, Thai decided to go back to his roots, and make beautiful clothes for the Vietnamese community all over the world. Since 2004, Thai has been the top designer of choice for Vietnamese entertainment production companies. In 2009, he appeared as an expert designer in the cast of Bravo's hit fashion reality competition show, "Launch My Line" and his designs earned him the position of first runner up in the competition - as well as making him a sought after Southern California couturier for bridal, eveningwear and dresses. His first ready to wear collection - Thai Nguyen - will be available in stores for fall 2010.
