Description:
Kite Ski AK is a mother and son team who understand the need to provide something fun and exciting to youth in rural Alaska. We are a small company which wishes to set up several cable parks in remote areas of Alaska. Suicide is a huge problem in remote areas. We'd like to set certain Interior villages up with a cable park which could offer a community a year round gathering place, exciting physical activity while bringing health (mental and physical) to top of mind awareness. A cable park is fun and Alaska's a perfect place to launch. Winter offers snow and summer water to ride on. Kids here are dying for fun physical things to do besides riding around on 4 wheelers and snow machines. Board sports are a healthy fun activity which will help keep kids clean and could be worked into schooling to provide an incentive.
We need to have one system on site which will allow us to demonstrate the concept to villages. The cost of one system is $45,000 FOB Fairbanks and transit time to arrive is 4 weeks. We can expect a lead time of 8 weeks from date of order. The system will ship via barge to Alaska from Germany.
The cable tow system was developed in Germany and is currently being used there to teach toddlers to elderly the sport. It can be the platform to teach Kite Sailing on snow or water. My son, 23, is ready to get out and teach the extreme fun of wind driven board sports and cable tow.
The plan is to pitch this idea to the large native corporations but until we have the tool on the ground it is difficult to demonstrate and have clear understanding from interested parties. Everyone we've spoken to about this is excited and wants us to succeed!
