Description:
Kalele Bookstore & Divine Expressions will be more than a new and used bookstore and boutique; it will offer a greatly needed venue for our rural community. The island of Molokai has only 7500 residents and averages 85000 visitors each year. It is the center island of Hawaii, that has seen less growth and development than any other Hawaiian island. However, the imminent canonization of Blessed Damien has global potential for our destination. Our community is steeped in Hawaiian culture and history and my store will offer a gathering place with interactive workshops designed to enhance a visitor's experience as well as bring recognized cultural experts from the other islands to share their knowledge with our children and local residents.
