I want to start a small company that sells fair trade items, online and possibly at a local farmers market. I would focus on all handmade items that are fair trade, including but not limited to, : jewelry, candles, fashion, handbags, stuffed toys for children, aromatherapy items, and other "feel good" items. We would feature items on the website and in the store, that were made by artisans, local and abroad, that had a inspiring story of achievement. The purchases would then sponsor the groups of people would needed it most, i.e. homeless, the hungry, the underprivileged, and so on. So, not only would the customer be purchasing a quality item that would make them feel good directly, but their purchase would have a dual reason to make them feel good. That is my vision.
