Description: We are a sporting goods retail store specializing in fishing, hunting, camping and paintball. We are located right outside of a beautiful 5,283 acre state park which has a 1,500 acre lake and state game land 157 that runs through it as well as being surrounded by 2 other state parks, 9 County Parks and 7 campgrounds. We opened our doors in June 2008 and with having our doors opened only three months I have generated average sales on the lines of $17,000.00 monthly, keeping in mind that number reflects sales resulting in no advertising, simply just a store front in the right location. Not only is word of mouth working its way around town, we have our repeat customers and know a lot of them by name now too... Me and my husband have used our own savings and help from a family member to open the doors there is no loan except the lease on my POS System. Our store is fully stocked with all fishing gear, live bait, paintball and disc golf. Where we are falling short is on Archery and the season is here and the demand is knocking down our door. We have what we need to work on bows, the basic accessories for the hunters to get into the woods, but need to obtain funds to purchase additional accessories, camo, bows, etc. We had an invenstor who was interested (family member), we worked up an agreement, but last minute due to their own stability and their losses in the stock market etc., lately, they have decided to back out in fear of our economy. While I have the same fears with the direction our economy is headed, where I do feel confident is in the field in which I operate in. Its been proven that when an economy is in turmoil, the sportsman will always continue with their outdoor activities/hobbies. I have a written business plan and would be willing to share with serious investors only! From an Investors standpoint, I believe the funds I am in need of to be very minimal.
