Description:
I am starting a soup kitchen that is based out of southwest Philadelphia. Joy Blossoms Daily Bread was founded by Tamika Heath and Donte Adams and began less 2 months ago as a dinner meal serving 100 people in a homeless shelter for Easter. The purpose of this business proposal is to secure a $50,000 grant to fund the purchase and marketing of a mobile soup kitchen food truck (Joy Blossoms Daily Bread) in Southwest Philadelphia, PA. This investment will help the company begin and continue operations until the company becomes self-supporting.
Joy Blossoms Daily Bread will serve fresh hot meals and cold drinks to anyone that may be experiencing a hunger crisis free of charge.
CUSTOMERS
Anyone is welcome to dine with us; however, guests will generally include members in the community of Philadelphia and its surrounding areas that may be in need of a hot nutritious meal served to them free of charge. We estimate reaching out to and helping anyone that may be in need regardless of age, nationality, race, gender, or creed.
FINANCIAL FORECAST
In 2015, The Broad Street Hospitality collaborative reported that 62,500 meals were served. That’s over 1,200 meals per week. At Joy Blossoms Daily Breads' most resent event, we were able to serve over 100 homeless men in a shelter , and our goal is to increase that number by at least 100 people every month.
REQUIRED FUNDS
At Joy Blossoms Daily Bread, our core approach to building up the community is to first offer a hot nutritious meal to vulnerable people. As our business blossoms, and we began to grow and purchase a building, we will offer access to various other self-supporting social services that complement the meal.
