Description: UCapparel, founded xx/xx/xxxx in Santa Barbara California, was created to let art meet the world. UC apparel is a retail website that offers artists around the world to be compensated and notarized using a system which provides both great pay opportunities and consistent revenue. It is a community driven website where artists send in their work to be printed on t-shirts. These are then voted on by the members of the site once a week, the top five shirts will then be chosen and sold for the corresponding week. By paying the artists a commission per shirt sold the website will create a market for amazing talent and personal profits; it is the free market of artistic expression. This can, and will, amount to millions of dollars given out to the art community. After enough capital accumulation UCapparel will begin to print its own shirts, cutting costs allowing us to sell cheaper shirts, boosting sale volume. UCapparel will begin small but through targeting advertising, a strong core of principles, and a dedicated pursuit for artists it will swell into a full clothing line. The average cost of a t-shirt at any retailer such as Pac-sun, Urban Outfitters, American Eagle is twenty dollars and base their designs of a team of artists of a particular taste. Our market takes artists from around the world, creating a business model that brings out the best designs which will apply to a broader market. Shirts will be sold for no more then 10 dollars a shirt, printed on American Apparel. At the beginning our target market will being as a niche community, particularly collage bound individuals with facebook accounts. These clients seek apparel which is unique, looks amazing, and has a strong moral purpose to back their purchase. When we begin we will have limited market share. However, our competition doesn't advertise in any other way other then the internet. Thus we anticipate not only to gain all market share but increase it to levels never seen. Our pricing and promotion will create customer loyalty and an overall ever-growing community which will expand rapidly due to targeted advertising. There is only one product and that is the t-shirts being sold, yet as the company grows we look forward to increasing the product list from hats to jeans, still custom made by the artist community. Our competition consists of two companies targeting primarily internet savvy individuals. One is (URL removed) which has no physical store and caters to a primarily to computer savvy. The other is (URL removed), our main competition, which has a physical store in Chicago and is popular among a target audience yet is not in the mainstream. They lack commercials, internet advertising, and any ground floor networking. Coming to our mission, in the greater aspect these sites do not reward their artists enough. They offer five hundred dollars for t-shirt designs, which is grossly underpaying and undervaluing their artists. We plan to give two dollars per shirt sold, thus if just five hundred shirts are sold that a thousand dollars in profit. Secondly, Threadless does not use models but rather uses pictures of its customers. Now as this is noble to customer loyalty it has the psychological effect of creating emotions that are not positive. UCapparel will use models from college campuses around the nation to delve into sexual appeal. Sex sells, this is a basic human emotion and has underlying psychological principles that cannot be ignored. If someone looks good in a shirt, people link that design to looking good themselves.
