Currently just past the "idea" stage, a group of coaches have expressed interest in using their expertise in coaching in a MMA gym. Our coaches come from various backgrounds: martial arts/self-defense, wrestling, MMA, and boxing. As the primary project manager I have researched the following:
-retail spaces around the downtown Dallas area
-priced advertising cost-varies
-priced equipment cost(mma cage, wrestling mats, punching bags, wall mats, gear, etc)
-insurance and incorporation cost- waiting on quotes for insurance, incorp-
-utlities needs (phones,internet, alarm, electricity, merchant processing, etc)
-office manager
Our bottom line number needed to open a MMA Gym would be $75,000. This would allow us to ramp up on students and have enough money for operating cost until we reach our goal of number of students/members. We are looking to have a minimum of 200 members and charge between $200-$225 per month per student. I am still developing the ideas and still need to develop an official business plan.
