Description:
Hilo Art Museum is a new, general art museum in Hilo, Hawaii. The people of Hawaii are extremely isolated, and many have not had the chance to enjoy the world's culture.
Our mission, in simple terms, is bringing the art of the world to the people of Hawaii for their enjoyment; educating people on the works, the artists and the history; teaching people how to create their own art.
Our "Art of the Holocaust and Genocide" is a permanent exhibit, and is something that people from around the world will come to see. It has works from Holocaust survivors, as well as works from people whose lives were directly touched. Included in this exhibit are Picasso and Chagall.
